I'm always impressed with student work when you give them creative freedom on an assignment. These book recommendations created by 5th graders in Google Drawings are a wonderful example of that!
Students in 5th grade at Sibley and Lakeview wrote book reviews as a writing assignment, starting with the 4-Square planning method they've been practicing.
Then, they took the information on their planning sheet and wrote a four paragraph book review.
After that, they were told to create some sort of book review/book recommendation visual using Google Drawings. They were tasked to create something that would be informative yet persuasive, while at the same time appealing to the eye.
Check out some of the amazing work they produced!
