Students at Lakeview and Sibley are excited for the Maud Hart Lovelace and Star of the North book award nominees for the 2017-2018 school year!
These book award nominees are chosen by the Minnesota Youth Reading Awards Organization. In March, students will vote for their favorite book in each category. The great thing about this award is that the award winners are chosen by STUDENTS all around the state of Minnesota!
"It is Minnesota Youth Reading Awards' purpose to administer yearly "read and vote" awards programs, providing nominee titles that offer opportunities for Minnesota youth to see themselves and others in the pages, to make new connections, and to engage and enjoy the world of reading."

Students in 1st-3rd grade will read all 10 Star of the North nominees with their classroom teachers and then vote for their favorite book.
Students in 4th & 5th grade who read at least 3 of the Maud Hart Lovelace nominees will get to vote for their favorite book.
We're all anxious to get reading so we can vote for our favorite book in the spring!
